There are so many incredible aspects about God that it is beyond human comprehension. But what I love about Him is; He is always revealing more about himself to me. In the entire course of my lifetime I will still not know Him fully. But I will have experienced a lifetime of revelation moments about God.

I had one of those moments recently. While studying in Acts 2, I read these words: “Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.” Acts 2:2. In context, this is written about the coming of the Holy Spirit which signaled a new age of grace following Jesus’s death, resurrection, and ascension. The Holy Spirit entered the spirits of those who were present. It was a moment when the power of God actually became part of the DNA of every Christian.

My attention was focused on the scripture above. Before the Holy Spirit filled every believer there, he filled the whole house. The atmosphere changed. I’ve wrestled with this in the past. I’ve felt differences in physical spaces when the Holy Spirit is there, but I always assume it’s because there are believers there. Of course that’s true, but the same Holy Spirit that lives in you and me is the God of the atmosphere. Genesis 1:1 says: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.”  The Holy Spirit was the God of the atmosphere at the time of creation, He was the God of the atmosphere on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2, and he is still the same today.

Allow the Holy Spirit to have access to every place you are. He is in you with power, but he also wants to change the atmosphere of every place you go. The atmosphere of your home, workplace, school, and even your car, can change and be permeated with the Spirit of God. He absolutely wants to fill you up with His presence, and he wants to change the atmosphere of every space you find yourself in. Pay attention to the atmosphere. If you don’t know that the Spirit of God is there, invite him to change the whole space. The God of the atmosphere lives in us. What an incredibly powerful life we enjoy. Now let him change everything.
